Our lower Hobble Creek campsite is accessible by 4 x 4 vehicles to the site, but then the area surrounding is seen by means of hiking or on horseback. The terrain and accommodations are similar to that of the upper camp, but lodging will be in a hunting cabin. Our hunts for deer, elk, and moose are conducted out of both camps
Our Poker Creek camp is situated beyond the north end of Lake Alice and requires a horseback pack-in of seven miles. From our main trailhead, this horseback ride into our upper pack-in camp takes about 2 hours. All along the way to this upper Lake Alice Camp, the sheer beauty and awe-inspiring landscapes color the adventure in real-time. We never grow tired of the view even after all these years and many miles spent horseback in and out on this trail.
The accommodations include large and spacious wall tents with cots and pads for each guest, outhouse and shower tent. The kitchen includes running water, large table to accommodate group meals and stove for the colder months.
It is important to plan for two extra days: one day to to pack in, and one day to pack out. Our summer trips are only run out of this upper camp while our hunts can be based out of either camp.
Mule deer, Rocky Mountain elk, Shiras moose, antelope, and black bear are hunted out of our camps, and world class deer, elk, and bear have been taken in our areas.
We are great proponents of the true “fair chase” hunting experience. Our method of hunting brings with it the allure and thrill of the hunt where animals are still able to rely on all their keen senses to survive the chase uninhibited by fences, property boundaries, or any other means of artificial boundaries. You see, man’s hunting versus an animal’s instinct to survive always brings a more pure adventure to the whole hunting experience. In short, we have a whole lot of love and respect for the animals we hunt and the country in which we hunt them.
We feel a sacred responsibility not to ruin Mother Nature’s delicate balance in our quest for sharing the great outdoors with the public. We never take for granted the great blessing of being able to do what we do.
If you’d like to make special arrangements for shorter or longer periods than the standard hunts, we can put together a custom hunt for you.
Custom processors are available in the area to skin, cut, wrap and freeze your game, and prepare it for shipment. We can also refer you to an area taxidermist.
A non-resident of Wyoming must enter a draw to have a chance at acquiring a license to hunt in the state. To draw out, you must accumulate the needed number of preference points. When you put in for the hunt of choice, it is required that you purchase the Hunting License at that time. If you draw out, the license and a copy of the regulations will be mailed to you within 15 days of the draw results. If you don’t draw out, then they will reimburse you, minus the nonrefundable application fee of $15.

Clients are asked to bring no more than 50lbs of gear including sleeping bags per person. All food is included.
With each of our hunts we strive to have one guide available for every two hunters to give you the best possible opportunity to fill your tag. For an additional $300 a day, you can have the opportunity to work with one of our experienced guides one-on-one.
Currently the price for rifle or archery hunts remains the same. The general elk and deer tags purchased through the state of Wyoming can be used during the archery season with the purchase of an additional archery license which costs an additional $72 for non-resident hunters.
For groups of 4-5 hunters we offer a 4% dicount off each hunt. With groups of 6 or more, we offer a 6% discount.
We operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. We encourage interested parties to promptly fill out the form provided here. Once we recieve your form, we will finalize dates for your trip and will require at least a 30% deposit. We feel this provides equal opportunities for all. The remaining balance must be paid 30 days prior to your trip date. Your deposit will guarantee your spot in the year you book, however it will NOT guarantee the price of hunt. We reserve the right to adjust the price based on current economic conditions and other factors.
For hunts, if you do not draw out, you will be refunded your deposit within two weeks. Optionally, you can use that money to book a hunt for the following year or until a license and tag can be obtained.
If purchased with credit card, a 3.0% or applicable fee will be added to the price of the hunt. Personal checks and cashier check are accepted for the deposit for your hunt. However, only cashier checks will be accepted for the remaining balance. Write checks payable to Crooked Sky Outfitters.
We offer a full refund of your deposit on cancellations prior to June 1st of the year of your hunt. On cancellations occurring between June 1st and 30 days prior to your scheduled hunt, you will recieve a 50% refund. On cancellations occurring within 30 days of your scheduled trip, your deposit will be non-refundable.
